This book is a comfort. It resolves arguments. It's really fun to use. With this book, you can adopt an authoritative tone and refer to page numbers and rules. You can quote things. It provides the answers to many questions.
On the cover of this book, it says it's the essential guide for writers, eidtors, and publishers. I would add "transcriptionists" to the list. (Some would call us "transcribers." Chicago does not have an opinion.) My Chicago sits to the left of me, waiting to be opened. When I use it, I feel a sense of relief. I feel grateful. Things are easy to find. It's writen clearly. You can look at examples to make sure you understand. It's like having this incredibly solid foundation underneath you while you work. It is a great tool for your tool kit.
